Virgil’s Sunday Musing…

by Virgil Caine

Virgil Caine

Here we be America. Another week closer to victory. Leviathan is on the run, we are on the march.

Here’s an interesting bit of news fer ya:

The FBI has completed their testing process and awarded a $97 million dollar 5.56 mm ammunition contract. This award is now public information and appears unique in several ways. Besides being perhaps the largest ammunition contract in FBI history, it is also the first time the FBI has mandated a true 5.56 mm pressure loading, rather than the typical anemic .223 pressure loadings that have generally been marketed to LE agencies. The 5.56 mm load offers approximately an extra 200 fps––helping performance out of short barrel weapons and enhancing function when rifles are dirty or in dusty conditions. The new FBI contract for the first time required that the ammunition be packaged on stripper clips to aid in more rapid loading of magazines. Finally, it is the first multi-award carbine ammo contract for the FBI––both Federal Cartridge and Winchester were judged to offer ammunition which met the contract criteria. Numerous other Federal LE agencies are authorized to purchase off this contract.

The 5.56 mm Federal 62 gr Trophy Bonded Bear Claw (TBBC) bonded JSP load is XM556FBIT3.

The 5.56 mm Winchester 64 gr solid base bonded JSP is Q3313 on stripper clips/RA556B in 20 rd boxes.

Both loads are the best barrier blind 5.56 mm loads ever produced for LE use; they offer outstanding terminal performance, even after first defeating intermediate barriers like vehicle windshields.

What do your reckon? Them white collar criminals the Fibbies are famous for collarin’ getting a little uppity? Ya figure they be going after some of the bankster’s who helped send our economy into a tail spin?

Nah, I don’t reckon that’s the case. Way I figure it, especially with Eric “Clinton Cover Up Man” Holder at the helm and Mort over at DHS, the feds are being spun into paranoia central and they need this ammo to counter you veterans and other assorted vermin out there in fly over country. Ya’ll behave yerselves especially when driving. It’s the windshields they hate….least there will be some decent ammo laying around in the future should anyone get stupid……

Things is getting a might interesting out amongst it. I’d like ya’ll to go on over and read David Codrea’s latest as he sums it all up nicely.  Will Posting Comments HERE Get You on the Government’s Watch List?

Let me tell ye how the “list” works. Yer all on it. Ya ain’t on the friends of Leviathan list and that’s all ye need to know. I wouldn’t go frettin’ too much ’bout it and lists work both ways.

The narrative has been built. Anyone attempting to impede Leviathan is a prospective enemy and threat. Anytime now the G is going to exert itself against some individual or group who may or may not be a threat so they can make an example of them and teach the rest of you a lesson. We’ve been here before. Ol’ Billy Jeff Clinton found hisself in a bit of a jam just like comrade zero is in now with falling poll numbers, fierce opposition in congress and next thing ya know the rise of “right wing extremism” solved all his troubles. It’s coming. Take it to the bank….on second thought bury it in yer mattress…banks ain’t too reliable now day’s. Ya’ll didn’t think this was going to be all tea and cake now did ya? Stay alert, stay alive.

Concerned American posted this over at Western Rifle Shooters: I reckon that about sums it up. Ya’ll watch yer top knot and keep yer nose in the wind. Leviathan be about.

THE END OF DIPLOMACY

Your point is well taken, but my guess is that we are much more likely to be confronted by some state or local LE group that has been coerced to do the Fed’s bidding. These days, the only Feds that seem to be willing to do front line customer service are the Border Patrol and ICE boys at internal checkpoints. Even there they partner with local boys to do the dirty work of actual arrests. See the Roadblock Revelations website for lots of that action.
That may change as things progress, but getting others to do your dirtiest work has been in the totalitarian playbook for a very long time. It gives the Feds an opportunity to ride to the rescue after things get ugly.

  2. Virgil Caine says:

true enough. every day is “anything can happen day”.

    • Uncle Kenny:

Even the border patrol isn’t cutting it. This is from a friend, Hamp. See below.

      Hamp

“Below is a quick report (I just returned)

My Team conducted a three day ranch security operation on a private border ranch (50,000 acres).

First, the rumor of Zetas taking over ranches on the U.S. side of the border is just a rumor. (confirmed by my border contacts).

However, the Zetas are involved in drug and human trafficking. We have confronted them several times over the years (which resulted in some arrests).

Now, things are much more dangerous. They are armed and not intimidated by the Border Patrol or any other law enforcement agency. The only thing that unnerves them seems to be potential confrontations with highly skilled Special Operations folks (like our Team).

Just one week ago, the ranch we patrolled was being “over run” by Zeta drug smugglers. We arrived at noon on Monday, and after logging over 100 miles of patrolling activity from Monday to today, not one sign of illegal activity was detected. Not even fresh foot prints.

So the lesson is obvious. If the border area was “privatized” (and rules of engagement loosened) there would be no border problem.

Of course, the democrats would NEVER allow that. They would loose too many potential votes. And the Repubs would also loose big $$$ donations from the likes of Tyson’s Foods.

Post script: We just downloaded IR Game Camera still pictures which were placed on likely illegal alien crossings.

We have detailed pictures of Border Patrol Vehicles traveling down ranch roads in the dead of the night at speeds which the agents simply could not have had a chance to see tracks or other signs of illegal crossings. In fact, there were plenty of signs (foot prints) left by our team during the day when we em-placed the cameras yet the vehicles didn’t stop.

The point is simple. The Border Patrol Agents in this case were not looking for tracks or any other signs. They were “running the clock”, for a pay check (like the good union members that they are). YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK !”
      ========
By the way, the credit for using the pencil to the snub goes to my fifth daughter Dixie.:) I thought it well matched with the MagSafe round.

      • Uncle Kenny says:

Well, you missed the point pretty entirely. I didn’t say the Border Patrol was effective, I said they were out there doing aggressive citizen interaction with their internal checkpoints … actually getting in the faces of normal people and violating their rights on a daily basis. The US Marshals and the FBI, on the other hand, are still dealing largely with real criminals and not pressing to turn regular folks into criminals because they happen to be traveling down the wrong road at the wrong time.
Once the FBI and the other Feds get in the game, we will see more internal stops like the ones currently being pioneered by the Border Patrol and ICE.
“Excuse me sir, we are stopping everyone along this stretch of I-95 to ask them if they paid their taxes this year.” “Do you have your IRS receipt and taxpayer certificate?” “No, then pull over there for secondary screening.” “We’d like to have our freeman sniffing dogs go over your possessions.”

  3. Dennis III says:

Heck Brock I have come across border patroll sleeping in their trucks with the Engines and AC running, at night and in the midle of the day. dam´n they make good targets when they do that. Good for them that a shipment was´t going through while they was sleeping.

    • “Good for them that a shipment was´t going through while they was sleeping.”

Right! Never a chance of that……..Like Hamp said, “like the good union members that they are”

  4. Irish Cicero says:

Based on some of our visits, we’re being watched.

    Penis envy.

  5. Urutu says:

I think a citizen’s militia is just what is needed in the Border States and the Governors of those states should call for citizen volunteers from around the nation. I could be there in two-three days max with weapons, ammo and supplies for up to thirty days.

How about a few thousand of us from across the country write directly to the governors of TX and AZ and let them know we’re willing, able and available.

I left Californica out intentionally. I’m aware it too is a border state but …!!!

  6. BillyBob says:

It’s not surprising that the fbi is arming up. Even the department of education has made some sizeable weapons purchases (https://www.fbo.gov/index?&s=opportunity&mode=form&id=cb68cf9f3fa2fe18a83d1c3dee0039b2&tab=core&tabmode=list).

The government appears to be preparing for something. I’m sure we could all think of some real or imagined reason for the obama administration to order all federal agencies to stock up on weapons and ammunition. The fact that obama has proven to be the best firearms salesman in the history of the world may be part of it. The rumors of obama doing something to cancel or postpone the 2012 elections, while unfounded at this point, could be a clue.

I would hope that most Border Patrol agents are perform their jobs to the best of their ability, but it has to be more than a little frustrating to have our federal government refuse to prosecute criminals and refuse to do anything to help the agents secure the border.

The best advice I have received in the past 18 months is to stock up on ammo, it will be the currency of the future…

  7. Dan III says:

    My take…
They are arming the “Civilian Security Force” dear reader spoke of and then funded and structured via obamacare.
We’ll be seein’ this stuff soon, I think.

  8. Yosemite Sam says:

    Virgil,

Can you refer me to the documentation which verifies the $97Million dollar amount of this contract? I want to be able to back this up as I spread the word…?

    Keep your head down,

USS Shakespeare – CVN 80 – “Unto the breach”

15 May 2012

OK, that may seem a little silly, but hear me out. We are not just in a fight for liberty and the founding principles. We are in an existential fight for all of Western Civilization. Sure, it would be nice to rollback 100 years of progressive nonsense and return to our (possibly imagined) Constitutional roots, but there’s more than that. Between the collectivists and the muslims, millenia of civilization (back to Homer, kids) are in …

Fidelity to Failed Ideas

12 May 2012

It’s terribly unfortunate that, out of an entire four-year cycle of politics, we’ve not seen the national economy recover in any substantial way. That’s a long time for it to be languishing the way it’s been. But it affords us a unique educational opportunity because we’ve been able to watch two presidential administrations — one archetypically liberal, running for re-election, and the other one whatever passes for “conservative” in this day & age, and not …

And A Soldier Dies

6 May 2012

When it comes to Kerodin’s Convention in DC, I am in. From the first day they passed the seat belt law in Colorado, 1986, or thereabouts, I knew it would come to this. I chaffed at the first sign of a government obsessed with my safety and knew that one day it would grow to the point that something would have to be done about it. It never stops at common sense, once they snare you …

Intelligence Is No Defense Against Absurdity

5 May 2012

Constitutional scholars do not impress me. I have listened to any number of them, including Representative Trey Gowdy, who recently ripped Kathleen Sebelius over the Obamacare issue. Okay, that was good and I enjoyed this video of the confrontation. Refreshing as it was, and instructive on the absolute ignorance of the Constitution and the Supreme Court and any measure of weighing Constitutionality against a bill put before congress that the Obama Administration has, even at the …

Their Work Will Never Be Done

1 May 2012

Today the world is different. Our nation is different. As Americans we are being pulled in different directions, called on by society to remain silent and acquiescent to the great ramrod of collectivism, or asked to risk everything for principles and ideals that are at the heart of Americanism, but no longer supported by our government(s). Indeed, to demand that the government recognize and operate under these very ideals upon which it is based is considered …

Trust and Retractions

30 Apr 2012

Now here is a picture that’s worth a zillion words… Look what’s going on there now. Green line is retraction incidents, measured in “notices” per 100,000 publications in scientific journals. Now, you could argue there may be problems with measuring it this way…but nevertheless, if the plotting is shaped like this, it’s gotta mean something. And the line more or less gels with public perception of the problems with science across time, if it doesn’t …

If The Darkness Descends

13 Apr 2012

Here’s the problem as I see it, whenever I attempt to communicate some ideas to the readers of this blog, I run into a problem. It is not that Romney supports guns and Obama wants to take them away, it is that every politician wants to take them away, either from an ideological police state mentality, or from a law and order, “make it safer for our guys, the government guys”, point of view. Does …

Drop The White Flag and Fight

10 Apr 2012

The announcement of Santorum only confirms what we all knew, that no matter who got the GOP nomination there would be a big-government liberal in the White House after the 2012 election. The announcement only sets the field. Santorum would have been no different, in my estimation, none of them would. I know I have been through this before, but there is no, none, zero chance that any government stooge will ever do anything to …

Studies

7 Apr 2012

So the kid’s here for spring break, of which today is the last day. The fiancee and I are driving him back to Nevada today so he can resume school. We had a blast with the go-karts and the trip to the shooting range, where I lost my .40 S&W virginity and managed a decently tight grouping in spite of the wicked recoil on the Beretta. Also upgraded his home-built with a new 2GB video …

A Step Forward

5 Apr 2012

It occurs to me that the best of us seek the justification of the Constitution to act, to not appear lawless and out of control. We seek some sort of sanctification, legitimization in our desire for liberty. We are not unreasonable about this, we don’t demand the destruction of our government, only that it would work the way it has promised to work. We want to be able to count on something.  In the face of that …
